Regular Meeting Times:
Crossroads Worship: Sundays at 9:00am in the Worship Center. We encourage every student to be a part of the main worship service each week. Youth Group is not a substitute for worship services! Sunday morning worship is an amazing time of worship with music, as well as a chance to Pastor Jerry “preach it up.” Sit with your family or join your friends – the students usually sit towards the front on the right side of the worship center. You don’t want to miss it.
Sundays: at 10:30 am in the Student Center (Room 500). On Sunday mornings the high school group gathers for worship, small group discussion and teaching from God's Word. Teaching is topical and uses God's word as the source.
Core Groups: Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in the Worship Center. Students come together for worship, Bible study, and small group accountability. Grade level and gender specific small groups meet at the end of each evening for discussion, prayer, fellowship and accountability. These are defined as Core Groups and are led by our volunteer staff. The purpose of Core Groups is to disciple and mentor our students to grow in their faith and in that growth, reach out and become disciple makers themselves. Participation in a Core Group requires a commitment from the student to participate. We desire that all students have the opportunity to join a Core Group, but commitment to doing your study and regular attendance is expected. For questions about participating in a Core Group, contact the Student Ministry Office.
Summer "Open" Core Groups: Wednesdays at 6:30 pm in the Worship Center. We encourage all of our students to be in ongoing discipleship relationships and our core groups facilitate this. During the summer we want to encourage those students who have never been a part of a core group to come and give it a try. We are not requiring any sort of comittment to participate. Students are welcome to drop in as they have availability.
During the summer months, we are meeting at the church. We will start outside (on the east side of the building) with an informal time of games (basketball, volleyball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, four square, broomball, kickball, etc. ) and then have worship, teaching, and small group discussion. Please dress to play outside and possibly get wet. If the weather is bad, we will move inside for the evening. So that we can control access to the building and for student safety, please use the front parking lot on the Eastside for drop off/pick up on nice days. For rainy days, the usual drop off by the student center is preferred.
There are no core group meetings on: June 16 and 30, July 28, August 25, and September 1 and 8.
Upcoming Activities:
Camp Firwood, July 25-31, Cost: $399. Register now for a week of summer fun up at Camp Firwood on Lake Whatcom near Bellingham. Some of the activities offered include: tubing, wakeboarding, skiing, sailing, canoeing, paintball, climbing, archery, arts and crafts, and much more. For a full picture of the available activities, check out the Firwood website. We will be providing our own volunteer staff to go with our students. Firwood is providing the program, food, and support services for the week. We are excited to be partnering with Firwood and look forward to an amazing week of spiritual growth, fun, and community. Students are encouraged to invite their friends to join us for camp. Camp is a great opportunity to begin to have conversations about eternal and spiritual matters with friends.
CBC will be a block group at a Firwood high school camp. To be a part of the CBC group, students must register through Crossroads Student Ministry. You can download a registration form here. To pay online, please use the link on the left menu bar.
